岐阜県高山(たかやま)サイトにおける森林炭素循環の長期学際的研究

森林生態系は、地球上の陸域の30%を占め、大気CO2濃度のような環境を調節するにあたり重要な役割を果たしていると考えられています。1993年に岐阜県高山(たかやま)に設置された高山サイトでは、森林の炭素循環のメカニズム理解と将来予測を課題とした長期学際的研究が行われています。このスペシャルバーチャルイシューでは、過去にJPRとEcological Research (日本生態学会)の特集号に掲載された論文から、高山サイトで行われた国際共同研究や学際的研究を紹介します。
